Fire Science Activity

Confessions of a Homeschooler has this great hands-on activity that teaches kids about the three things fire needs to burn (heat, air, and fuel). A great way to incorporate science into the firefighter study.

Firefighter Paper Craft

Firefighter Paper Craft. I don’t have a link for this activity since it was just a picture I found on Pinterest, but the craft is simple enough to make from construction paper and painted hand-prints, and the end results are pretty cute!

Firefighter Hand-Print Craft

Firefighter Hand-Print Craft. I’ve seen a lot of variations of this craft, but this one is my favorite. I love how creative the image is and really wish I could give credit to the artist, but, unfortunately, it was just an image I found on Pinterest with no link to any site, so I don’t know who the artist is, but the picture itself is a great inspiration!

Firefighter Art Picture

Firefighter Art Picture. Another art masterpiece that I just don’t have a clue who the artist is. Found this on Pinterest and really love the creative compilation between painting, drawing, cutting, gluing, and even adding some flare with popsicle sticks, tissue paper, and a photograph of the child. Really awesome!!

Firefighter Art Painting

Firefighter Art Painting. I don’t have a link or anything for this activity, it’s just a picture that I saw on Pinterest. But the idea is really interesting! I think it could be rather easy to do with kids, if you just had them paint the yellow, red, and orange colors on the canvas and then had a firefighter themed silhouette image to cutout and paste on top. Pretty simple, but the end results are just amazing!!

Firefighter Tracing Worksheet

Firefighter Tracing Worksheet. This printable tracing worksheet is a great way to get kids practicing their writing skills while having a bit of fun with their firefighter learning theme.

Fire Truck Toy With Lights, Sounds, and Five Fireman Figures. This is a great toy for inspiring the young imaginations. Remote Control Fire Truck

Remote Control Fire Truck. A great “first remote control vehicle” for toddlers. Very basic in it’s structure and performance and very easy for young kids to control. This particular vehicle is a fire truck, since that’s the theme we’re on, but there’s also a police car, dump truck, cement mixer, race car, airplane, and train engine, all from the same series.

My Town: Fire Station Rescue App

My Town: Fire Station Rescue App. This is a fun app for kids who are interested in firefighters. Part of the My Town app series. This particular app features 9 locations that include everything needed for a rescue mission. Dispatch your fire truck, use the ladder, activate the water cannon, gear up and dress up with your protective gear. Reach the accident area at super speed with your ambulance! Assist the injured and help save lives! Also includes clothing, uniforms, and even a BBQ. Visit the gym to stay fit and ready for any mission – lift weights, use the punching bag, or have fun playing a quick ping-pong game. There's even a fire station control room where a lot of action takes place -- take incoming calls, select missions, and sound the alarm! This app isn't free, but it's worth every cent -- just packed full of fun and learning for kids!

Cardboard Firefighter Photo Booth

Cardboard Firefighter Photo Booth. I love this idea of just taking a large piece of cardboard, cutting out a space for the kids’ face, and painting a picture of a firefighter. Of course, it requires a bit of artistic ability to implement, but what kid wouldn’t love to get their picture taken as a firefighter!

Cardboard Box Fire Truck

Cardboard Box Fire Truck. Kids love playing with cardboard boxes, and how much more fun to have a box that’s decorated to look like a fire engine! Great for dramatic play and inspiring the imagination!

Firefighter Dramatic Play

Firefighter Dramatic Play. I love this idea of using paper cups and an outdoor fire hose for kids to pretend to fight fires.
