Praying for Your Husband: Marriage
Lord, I pray that you would protect our marriage from anything that would harm or destroy it, especially seemingly innocent things that can creep in unnoticed and plant seeds for destruction.
I pray that you would protect our marriage from our own selfishness and neglect, from unhealthy or dangerous situations, and from the evil plans of our enemy whose desire is to seek and destroy.
May there be no thoughts of divorce or infidelity in our hearts and none that come up in our future. Put a guard on our hearts to protect us from anything (great or small) that would taint or pollute the beautiful thing that you have created marriage to be.
Set us free from past hurts, disturbing memories, previous relationships, and any
unrealistic expectations we may have. Heal any brokenness there may be in our hearts.
Raise up any low self-
Let nothing come into our lives that would threaten the marriage in any way, especially addictive influences such as alcohol, drugs, gambling, pornography, lust, or obsessions. Guard us from these “parasites” that would zap the life and joy out of our marriage.
Father, I pray that you would help me to never give ___(name)___ any reason to my faithfulness to him, but that he would have confidence in knowing that I am committed to him just as I promised on the day we were married. I know I am human and am capable of breaking faith and failing to keep a commitment, but I ask for your help in this, knowing that you are faithful and that you can enable me to keep my promise of fidelity to my husband.
Father, I pray that ___(name)___ would never have cause to doubt the love and affection that I have for him. Teach me more and more to effectively demonstrate my love and devotion for him. Help me to clearly show him how very much I respect and trust him. Let there be no secrets between us, and no misunderstandings that could be twisted around to cause doubts of any kind. Help us to always be open and honest with one another and above reproach.
Lord, I pray that you would bless our relationship and our level of intimacy. Let nothing come between us, or interfere in our relationship. Let nothing keep us apart during those times when we need each other most. Help us to be intentional about making time for one another, nurturing our marriage, and investing in our relationship.
Lord, I ask that you would be the third cord in our marriage, tightly entwined and holding us together, for we know that a cord of three strands is not easily broken, and your active part in our marriage is exactly what we need to have a relationship that will last.
I pray that we would be so committed to you, Lord, that our commitment to one another would not waiver, no matter what storms come. I pray that our love would only grow stronger every day so that we may be an example to others and leave a legacy of love and faithfulness for generations to come.
