Praying for Your Husband: Finances
Father, in his position of leadership, ___(name)___ has a great deal of responsibility in regards to finances and many times this responsibility can be a great burden on his mind. So Lord, I ask that you now to pour out your Spirit upon him, assure him of your great faithfulness, and give him peace in this area.
I pray that you would help us to commit our finances to you as a couple and as a family. Take complete control of them and use them for your purpose. May we be good stewards of all that you give us and walk in total agreement as to how we are to spend or invested.
I pray that we will learn to live free of debt and not to be owing to anyone. Where we have not been wise, bring restoration and give us guidance. Show us how we can help increase our finances and not decrease them unwisely. Help us to remember that all we have belongs to you, and to be grateful for it.
I pray that we would find it easy to give to you, and to others, as you have instructed in your word. Not hoarding it in any way, but giving generously to those who are in need. I pray, Lord, that you would give us our daily bread and that we would never lack anything we need. I also ask that you would give us exceedingly more than we need, so that we may in turn be a blessing to others.
I pray that you would instruct ___(name)___ in this area. Give him wisdom to handle money wisely. Help him make good decisions as to how he spends it. Show him how you would have us plan for the future.
Lord, I ask that you would allow ___(name)___ to always be paid well for the work he does and to protect our finances from being stolen, lost, or destroyed.
When we entrust our finances to others I pray that you would help them to deal honestly with us and be good stewards for your glory. I pray that you would richly reward those who deal honestly with us. Bless them abundantly and let these blessings come in such a way that they would know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the blessings are a rich reward from you.
In any case where there is deceitfulness or corruptions, I pray that the people involved would gain nothing from their deceit, but that you would be just in your dealings with them. I do not pray this for their harm, but rather for their good. Let it be that whatever they have gained by dishonest means would be lost to them in such a way that they would know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the loss was by your hand. Let it trouble their conscience and disturb their thoughts until they acknowledge it before you and turn to repentance.
My it also be when we suffer a loss because of the corruption or deceit of others, that you would compensate for what was lost so that we would not feel any lack or suffer to be in need. You are our loving Father. You are our provider. You own the cattle on a thousand hills. I believe that you can provide for our needs in accordance with your will. Help us never to seek revenge of those who deal dishonestly with us. Help us not to hold any bitter thoughts towards them. Remind us at all times that you are the one who gives and takes away. By your will alone will be prosperous or humbled. We look only to you!
Father, I pray for wisdom in knowing how to invest our funds and wisdom in knowing how to use what you have given us to be a blessing and help to others. Guard our investments, keeping them established and secure. Multiply our investments and grant us success in everything our hands find to do. Help us not to be anxious about finances, but to always seek you and your kingdom, knowing that as we do this you will provide for all our needs.
I pray this for our personal finances as well as ministry funds. I pray that we would know when to invest in the ministry and when to hold back for personal needs and future investments. I pray that we would have wisdom to know when to give funds as aid and when it would be best to hold back funds and instead provide jobs and education to equip others to provide for their families without creating any dependency on us.
Once again I pray that we would be good stewards of all that you have given us while at the same time holding them up to you with open hands. Remind us that all we have is a gift from you. Be glorified through our finances. Provide for all our needs. Help us always to look to you in all things and never place our confidence or security in anything materialistic.
I pray all this for your glory!
